East Lyme Public Trust Foundation Live Webcam
| |
This is a live view of the Niantic Bay Overlook, the
Hole In The Wall Town Beach, and the marginal
walkway along the eastern bluff of the Town's McCook
Point Park. It results from several years of effort
and several thousand dollars in cost to the East
Lyme Public Trust Foundation and its donors some of
whose resources were used to purchase and install
this recording, state-of-the-art video camera. Its
purpose is to add to the security and enjoyment of
all who visit the Niantic Bay Overlook park, which
we recognize as an important piece of The 75th Most
Desirable Small Town in the United States in which
to live. We provide these views for your information
on weather and sea conditions at the park. It will
also provide real-time views of the Amtrak Niantic
River Bridge Replacement project as it progresses
during each day of its predicted construction, which
we estimate will take about three years. Work began
in early April, 2010 and the specifications of that
work permitted in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
environmental permit can be
viewed here.
The operation of the video camera is now under the
control of the East Lyme video cameras security
system and is operated by the East Lyme 911 Center. Questions or comments about
the camera should be directed to the
Foundation.
